36 hours in Zermatt in a luxury chalet!

View from the chalet to the Matterhorn

<Press Trip> A crazy tour by bus and train for two nights in Switzerland! On tour in Zermatt.

Take the train to Zermatt

I drive from Munich a total of 7 hours only with the IC bus to Zurich, then continue with the IC Visp and from there finally with the Matterhorn Gotthardbahn Zermatt! Especially the last piece is already a little adventure for itself ....

A long journey, but really worth it! For scarce 90 € back and forth always ....

I am already expected by dear Joanne at the train station of Zermatt and meet in the chalet for a group of other, happy girls, who will spend two days with me in a luxury chalet here.
After a few snacks and small talk, we will visit the three really luxurious chalets that are over Alpenchalets can be booked:

Chalet Engelblick, Chalet Moritz and Chalet Giant:

It is really pure luxury. The icing on the cake is the 5 star service with 7 course menu, champagne, wine, port and whatever else you wish for. You are really courted until you drop, including holding umbrella, put on slippers and private massage appointment in the spa.

Each chalet has its own spa area with sauna and jacuzzi and views of the Matterhorn from the terrace and almost all rooms!

A day at the Matterhorn

The next day we start early in the morning with the best weather and cloudless Matterhorn Glacier paradise, Only with the electric taxi to the gondola, so to dry dock and continue with the next gondola to the end station. There we visit the Ice PalaceYou can walk through a crevasse and admire the artful ice sculptures. In the truest sense of the word "cool"!

Continue on the glacier, here it is even in midsummer icy and the wind whistles. There is still snow everywhere. No wonder, we are almost high on 4000m here. You can do different guided tours here. But we prefer to drink a hot chocolate in the café. Probably the most expensive in my life for about 10 CHF.

One highlight follows the next and we drive down again Furri, There awaits us an extraordinary surprise: clay pigeon shooting! Sounds crazy, I know, but with a few sips of Prosecco and some Hubert tips, it's really fun. In teams we compete against each other and in the end I even win, however I can.

Then we hike for about 20 minutes comfortably down to a picturesque village, where the ingenious restaurant To the lake located. We eat, drink, laugh and sit here for about two hours because of a sudden storm. I do not have to mention that a simple pasta costs just under 30 €.

In the end, nothing helps and we hike for about 20 minutes in pouring rain back to the main road, where the taxis await us and into the dry Chalet Engelblick bring. Here we have time to enjoy the great spa including massage! We sit in the Jacuzzi on the terrace overlooking the Matterhorn and are just happy to be here ...

In the evening there is probably the best barbecue session of my life!

The terrace of the Chalets Giant is decorated with candlelight and flowers, a band plays only for us and the view of the Matterhorn and Zermatt is just stunning. Not to mention the delicious meat and grilled vegetables. Oh what a night!

On a Guiness it goes by taxi then to downtown Zermatt into Spirit to round off this exciting trip.
Zermatt is so versatile and especially worth seeing, even in summer. Ok, not everyone can afford to live here, let alone one of the luxury chalets, but also for a day trip from for example Find it definitely worth the trip. I will come back…

I was invited by Alpenchalets and Elysian Collection on this great journey. My personal opinion was not influenced by this.
